Crime sometimes DOES pay !

Many years ago in the early 80's and as a young teller I had a rather drunk nurse come and draw a substantial amount out of her savings account.
I remembered the incident and the name of the person involved and about a year later there was a headline article about a person of the same name who had been convicted of fraud and theft. Apparently what had happened was that she had slept with a gentleman and stolen a few cheques out of the back of his cheque book. With these cheques she had stolen money out of his account which obviously went into her account BUT she also purchased Kruger Rands with one of the cheques.

By the time the court case was wound up and the plaintiff had received the Kruger Rands back they had increased substantially in value making it an excellent investment at the time. Fortunately it worked out well for the man who had been screwed over ...literally , AND he was rewarded for his efforts !
